METEOROLOGICAL DATA ANALYSIS

Meteorological data (temperature, rainfall and relative humidity) was collected from various sources such as India Meteorological Department (IMD) and local sources such as rainfall from Agriculture Department, Government of Mizoram, temperature and relative humidity data from Border Road Organization. The data were collected for each eight (8) districts of Mizoram namely Aizawl, Champhai, Kolasib, Lawngtlai, Lunglei, Mamit, Serchhip and Siaha.
Approach/Methodology adopted
Data were tabulated into excel sheet; each parameter of the data were separated for each districts and were analyzed separately using simple linear regression.
Significant results brought out as a part of the project
Three publications were made out of the data analysis:-
i) Meteorological Data of Mizoram:This was compiled in the form of booklet and published internally in 29thJune 2016. It consist of Rainfall, Temperature and Relative humidity for each eight districts of Mizoram during the period of 1986 to 2015). Data were represented into tabular form, bar diagram and line graph.
ii) Climate (Sik leh sa) leh Mizoram:A leaflet about the climate scenario of Mizoram published in February 2018, for awareness material to the general public. It consist of climate scenario of Mizoram from the temperature and rainfall data of Mizoram (1986 to 2017) which were represented graphical form.
iii) Climate Profile of Mizoram: This is a booklet consisting of temperature and rainfall of Mizoram (1986 to 2017) for each eight districts of Mizoram. Here, data were analyzed and presented in tabular and graphical form. It was published in 4th April, 2018 for the purpose of revision of Mizoram State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC), that it may be used as baseline and common data for all the line departments.
