Natural History Museum Mizoram, Mizoram University and State Climate Change Cell, Mizoram Science, Technology and Innovation Council (MISTIC) organized Workshop on Climate Change Education at Auditorium, Mizoram University on 21st April, 2023 (Friday)
The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. John Zothanzama, Co-ordinator of the Natural History Museum Mizoram. The chief guest Prof. Vanlalchhawna, Finance Officer, MZU and the guest of honour, Er. H. Lalsawmliana, Chief Scientific Officer, Govt of Mizoram stressed the importance of conserving our environment to tackle climate change.
In the technical session, Dr. Vanlalhruaii Ralte, Associate Professor, Pachhunga University College gave presentation on effect of climate change in flora and Prof. HT Lalremsanga, Dept. of Zoology, MZU also gave presentation on effect of Climate change on fauna.
The workshop was attended by 208 persons including students from St. James School, Divine Intervention School, Home Missions School, Faith Academy School and Dept. of Botany, Govt. Kolasib College.
Painting Competition was also organized with the theme – Effect of Climate Change on our Ecosystem. 46 participants submitted their paintings. Prizes were distributed to eight participants.
The participants also visited Natural History Museum Mizoram.
