Teikhang village is in the north-eastern part of Mizoram at a coordinate of latitude 23.9495253°N, 93.3023856°E longitude. Teilkhang is a village with a population of 2535 and 341 houses. Farming is the dominant livelihood, the village has four agriculture based co-operative societies WRC farmers society, Ground apple growers society, Purun zung chingtute and PACS. Two crops, purunzung and ground apple, are a specialty in the village. The major crops produced are paddy, potato, tapioca, brinjal, mock tomato, carrots, cabbage, ground apple, orange and purunzung.
Both Jhum and WRC are practised in the village, there is a large area of land (approximately 40 acres) that have potential for WRC but not utilised due to lack of irrigation facility.
Apart from farming, cattle herding is another major livelihood in which almost every house is engaged, their cattles include wild buffaloes, cows, pigs, and chicken.
Being the major producer of purunzung and ground apple, teikhang dominated the market of these two crops throughout the state. The produce are often self marketed without a proper market chain. There is no storage or processing facility in the village so many crop produce often spoil if it does not reach the market soon.
Teikhang has numerous places that have a good potential for Bio-tourism which include leilei kurung, Dahpa kawn, Chhura vawk kuang, Bak puk, Suangpuimingthang, Hmunpuitlang, Sur tlang and vai dan kham.
