WORKSHOP ON DISTRICT LEVEL CLIMATE VULNERABILITY PROFILE OF MIZORAM

Venue: Convention Centre, Lunglei Mizoram

A one day workshop on three different topics was organized at Convention Centre, Lunglei, Mizoram on 25th June 2019 jointly organized by Mizoram State Climate Change Cell, MISTIC, Mizoram Remote Sensing Application Centre (MIRSAC) of Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei.

The workshop was chaired by Dr. R.K. Lallianthanga, Chief Scientific Officer & Member Secretary, MISTIC. Pi K. Lalrinzuali, Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei District was the chief guest of the programme. There were three different topics presented by three different speakers in the technical session:

  1. Hazard Risks and Vulnerability Analysis (HRVA) presented by Pu Z.D. Laltanpuia, Senior Scientist, MIRSAC
  2. District Level Climate Vulnerability Profile of Mizoram (DLCVP) presented by Pu Lalthanpuia, Scientist B, Mizoram State Climate Change Cell, MISTIC, and
  3. Digital 3D Terrain Mapping and Modelling (3DTMM) presented by Pu. R. Lalfamkima, Scientist, MIRSAC

The workshop was attended by a total of 200 participants from Lunglei District Government officials, NGOs, Village Council Members, Students and Media persons of Lunglei town.
